Endoscopy requires both psychomotor and surgical skills. It is vital that these psychomotor skills
are trained and tested in a safe environment prior to training in the OR. It improves patient care
and greatly increases educational efficiency and surgical competence of the surgeon.
Pathway of GESEA programme
to becoming a Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgeon
- Open to all gynecologists including residents and specifically aimed at residents
- Starts with the GESEA Level 1 e-learning module
- Incorporates practical psychomotor skill exercises for laparoscopy (LASTT1, SUTT1) and hysteroscopy (HYSTT1)
- Exam consists of a theoretical and multiple practical tests
- The GESEA Level 1 Certificate serves as a license to start training in the operating room
- Open to both gynaecologists and reproductive surgeons
- Starts with the in-depth GESEA Level 2 e-learning module
- Incorporates advanced practical psychomotor skill exercises for laparoscopy (LASTT2, SUTT2) and hysteroscopy (HYSTT2)
- Exam consists of a theoretical and multiple practical tests
- The GESEA Training and Level 2 Certificate serves as a license for basic endoscopic procedures
- Surgeons who have the necessary surgical competence can start the application for the GESEA Level 2 Diploma
